Prejudice

Why be prejudice?

Prejudice: Prejudice is when someone treats you wrongly for disliking you for your appearance, religion, or behavior. People who are prejudice can sometimes take things out of hand.

To Kill A Mockingbird

Story example:

In the story, there is a colored man who happens to be helpful to a white young lady who asks for help. The young lady is 19 and a half her name is Mayella Ewell. The man is 27 and his name is Tom Robinson. One night Mayella accused Tom of raping her. She was all cut up on her right side. The only way Tom could have abused her on the right side was if he hit her with his left fist, but Tom was crippled in his left hand. During the trial, (Atticus, Tom's lawyer) proved this to the jury. Tom's testimony was innocent. The jury however had had the verdict, guilty. The only reason he was proven guilty was because he was black.

Real life example of being prejudice:

A lot of people think that the world is filled with people to be un-prejudice. That however is incorrect. In a typical town, there have been protests. After a fight between two young men, (different skin colored) people have taken their beliefs and brought them to Kingston, New York. This is an example of religious, skin, and appearance prejudice.
