Free Education
Did you ever wonder why doctor bills are so high? I suppose one of the reasons is their education is so high. Why must we pay for higher education? And if we must pay why is it so expensive? I believe the burden of payment should lie in the lap of those who benefit from an educated workforce. We spend lots of money going to school to get a degree and when we graduate there is no guarantee of a job. If you're fortunate enough to get a decent job, pile your student loans on top of your regular bills and taxes and you have a financial mess! Corporations and other business entities make billions a year off an educated workforce. With so many tax cuts going to the rich, who also make and sustain their money off the blood and sweat of workers, they should share the wealth, as well. While I'm ranting, why are we paying so much money to learn how to memorize tests? I've been memorizing things since I heard my first song and I didn't have to pay for that. If we are paying so much money, why aren't we being taught to think for ourselves rather than how to quote others. I suppose if we were taught that there would be more people screaming about free education and the ways it could be accomplished. Since we aren't taught those skills and we are instead taught to memorize, quote, and work for those who exploit us, we are trapped in a web of despair that cannot and will not end unless we lighten some of our load. A start would be a better, FREE, education system.
