An End To Poverty and Homelessness
Why is our wealth so unevenly divided? I'm not saying that the rich should necessarily split their money among the poor, but the access to such economy should be evenly distributed. In our current system, we farm food and land for profit rather than to feed our people. If used wisely, the money being earned off the blood and sweat of hardworking Americans could quite possibly be used to put a serious damper in the world's poverty situation. With so many resources available we should have adequate jobs to grow an adequate amount of food and create an adequate amount of homes living little room for poverty, hunger, or homelessness. We must understand the reasons for these conditions. Nobody volunteers for such despair nor do they volunteer for the obstacles that cause it. It is hard to get some jobs without a permanent address. Some people have not been able to register to vote without one. As cynical as it sounds, most people would HAVE a permanent address if they had the economic means(a job). Removing the obstacles that cause these situations is the key. As stated before, building homes creates jobs=homes because of the jobs that created them. Creating jobs to farm for food instead of just for profit=food because of the farming jobs. Make the connection. Jesus said, "...the poor will be with you always." That doesn't necessarily have to be but if it does we should seriously consider just how poor our poor is and come up with better ways in which to stop the exploitation and other obstacles that cause poverty.
