Competition

Horses, just like humans, like to compete. It is in their nature. Stallions compete for territorial standing, to be the dominate in their herd, and teh mares compete for authority and leadership. Below are several tpyes of competition that a horse and rider can enter. Each having its own specific requirments and rewards.

10 Different Types of Categories

• Dressage-- Requires concetration and a wonderful bond between horse and rider
• Cross Country-- Tests the endurance and physical fitness of the pair
• Horse Dancing-- To get a horse to move in perfect time and rhythm with another horse to music.
• Racing-- Another endurance test. Jockeys are oftens short and very light.
• Barrel Racing-- Agility and speed are very important in this fast paced race
• Show Jumping-- Tests the horse and rider's speed, control and agility
• Roping--Agility, speed and trust
• Chuckwagon-- Fun fast paced racing
• Breed Shows-- For a specific breed and their gaits
• Driving -- Often for Tenesse Walkers or draft horses.
