New Members
On February 17, 2000
Columbia Records has announced that recording artists LeToya and LaTavia
of Destiny's Child have been replaced by new members Farrah Franklin, age 18, and
Michelle Williams, 19. The performers can be seen in the group's video
"Say My Name". The
group, with their new lineup, attended the Grammy Awards, for which they've received two
nominations. This was right before their March 5 promotional tour in
Europe. They'll return to the U.S. for two Madison Square Garden
concerts, also starring Brian McKnight.
Both Farrah and Michelle have a history with Destiny's Child
members Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland. Farrah
danced in the background of the group's video, "Bills, Bills, Bills,".
Michelle met them during her moment as a background singer for Monica.
"We couldn't be more excited that Farrah and Michelle have joined us,"
Beyonce and Kelly admit. "We're all really looking forward to the next
phase of Destiny's Child."
