Religion & Spirituality, Part I



    True religion was never meant to be separated from spiritualty; in fact its purpose was to deepen and broaden our comprehension of and connection with the Divine in and around us... Yet spirituality is lost when any person or religion puts down another-- this goes against the grain of the heart and the purpose of the God-Spirit.


Religion has become a materialist plaything when one faith condemns or competes against another. Gratefully, the thinkers of our day have recognised these transgressions, and are refusing to accept them as gospel. Such misdeeds hve worked to the breakdown of cooperation and the human spirit, and many have given up religion as a dead thing. It becomes dead when its heart is stripped of life by ego-driven and man-made interpretations; the harm done by the misdeeds of those religionists who have laid exclusive claim to "truth" have yet to be reckoned in the books of Spirit.



The Oneness of God...
         
The origin of all divinely revealed religions lies in one God; the same divine Source is behind all the faiths. Their purpose is that of advancing the civilization of humankind. and within all their teachings is the idea that...

  "The Holy Spirit saith:   " I am born from age to age." --


 These words are attributed to Lord Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita. Similar promises and prophecies exist in all religions of the world. Throughout time, it is these Teachers who have brought Spirit to the people at the lowest points in the history of humankind. These uniquely chosen "Mouthpieces" of Spirit have appeared in every age and cycle. Never have they renounced one another; rather, each has built on the tachings of the Ones who have gone before...



Religion and True Spirituality
            A true Loving Spirit surely listens to the longings of all those on earth and works in many ways: creating from many motifs, colors, and languages. There is much to learn of the Divine in every culture and every religion, and many of their writings are indistinguishable from one another.


          In Buddhism there is the eightfold path, reminiscent of the Ten Commandments.
          Christianity has spawned a multitude of divisions, whose outrageous treatment of each other and of different faiths is an insult to his name. often, more unbelievers have been scared away than converted to the faith. Yet its writings contradict the actions of many of its adherents.


  It is written in the holy Bible that "In my Father's house are many rooms."



       "Above the earth is a great circle of prayer" in which everyone from every faith, as well as those without faith - is a part... When you pray or act from fullness of heart, you are connecting with this tremendous power that comes from all corners of the earth.

                Whatever our affiliation, each one of us will one day stand alone before the Sprit of Creation. The question of the day will not be: Were you Christian, Protestant, Hindu, Muslim or Jew. Rather, the questions wll be:: Did you search for truth with an open heart and listen for the promptings of Spirit? Did you act on those promptings, or return to your sleep and dreamings? Did you love your neighbor, feed the hungry, teach yourself and others ?



      This is what true spirituality is all about...

When you read these words from the various Faiths of the world, and think about this great Purpose, do you not feel the stirrings of Spirit within you? This is the meaning of true spirituality...
