PREFACE:

As you know, I had an encounter with one of MCC's very daring squirrels last week. In case you don't remember, he sat on my lap and ate almost all of my delicious muffin.

So I decided it would be a nice gesture if I bought a pack of peanuts and tried to make friends with the little feller this morning.
I made friends with the squirrel, yes. But I also made friends with the two even more daring ducks that prowl the campus on a daily basis (frequently walking into the cafeteria as if they belong there).

Hilarity ensued. And lucky for you, I caught it all on "film" with my delightfully convenient camera phone...

The following photographs have not been altered for any purpose other than quality/clarity or size.

The times recorded are accurate.

MY MORNING IN PICTURES

9:44 am
Squirrel appears. Eats peanuts which have been strategically placed on my leg.

9:46 am
Upon completion of the peanuts on my leg, squirrel sits beside me for approximately fifteen minutes, doing nothing.

10:01 am
Ducks appear. Squirrel promptly leaves the area.

10:02 am
Ducks begin to eat peanuts left behind by squirrel. Duck (L) begins to slowly make his way closer to me, knowing that I have more peanuts. Duck (R) loses interest and leaves.

10:03 am
Closer and closer comes the duck (L).

10:04 am
Duck [finally] makes his way to the top step, stands directly in front of me, and stares at me for exactly ten minutes. (The dark blue at the bottom of the photo is my leg.)

10:14 am
Still staring.

10:15 am
Squirrel returns. I give the squirrel more peanuts. This angers the duck. The duck tries to bite the squirrel. I hit the duck. The squirrel seems pleased.

10:16 am
Duck becomes despondent and leaves.

10:17 am
Duck's absence makes the squirrel feel more daring.

10:18 am
Squirrel pushes his face under my leg to retrieve a peanut that the duck missed.

10:20
Believing that there are still more peanuts to be had (there aren't), squirrel shoves his face into the empty bag repeatedly.

10:21 am
As the squirrel begins to lose interest, the duck returns to stare at me once again. He continues until 10:47 when I get up to go to class.
