FINITE INCANTATEM

The spell that ends another spell. Most often used when a spell is out of control. Like most charms, the Finite Incantatum spell was created accidentally, through necessity. A young student of witchcraft and wizardry "stumbled" upon this charm when one of his transfiguration spells ran amok. It was quite effective at keeping him from turning the ENTIRE class into flobberworms.

Finite - from French "fini" meaning "finished"
Latin - "finitre" meaning "to limit" or "finis" meaning "end"
Incantatum - From Latin - "incantatus"; the past participle of "Incantare" meaning to enchant.
