The Debut Album
In November 1994, my friend Andy Vendetti purchased a Tascam four-track Porto Seven. This was a tape recorder that allowed you to record four separate tracks and play them back at once. This machines quality was a bit better then our boom box recordings and most importantly it allowed two people to become a whole band.
Before the session, we had surrounded ourselves with Ween's "God * Ween * Satin (The oneness) album" & Becks "One Foot in The grave." We like lyrics that painted a funny and descriptive picture and music with basic cord structure & a unique, but strange, melody. With those two factors in place, the sum should be one psychedelic ride.
There was no preparation for the first session. In fact, I think the whole album was compiled of various, no-preparation sessions. Lyrics on the fly...over dubbed tracks to complete or cover the mistakes (doesn't make sense does it...Just by the album...It makes Adam Sandler jealous) Being both the engineer and the players, combined with minimal equipment, made the songs very basic. However, this did not stop us from using our imaginations. With that in mind, this makes the Debut Album The kissing farries most uniquely imaginative and freshly creative album.
