I am working with Polaris software Labs (www.polaris.co.in) as a part of the design team. We are working on a Global Banking Software (GBS) project for NEC-Japan, wherein the design team has the responsibility of understanding the client’s requirements and designing the framework based upon which the software is coded. I am presently in the Loan design, wherein I manage a team of 8 designers.

Streamlining the processes of work allocation and tracking within the team has been my key achievement here. This was a key bottleneck area that was causing slippage in deadlines. As a result of my efforts, I was given the responsibility of managing the loan design team just 4 months after joining the team.

Along with 4 of my friends, I launched a web-site ‘metrojosh.com’  (October 1999 ), while still in the first year of our MBA course. The vision of the site was to provide an online platform for those youth related ‘real world’ businesses that are neither big enough to have their own online presence, nor small enough to ignore the power of the net altogether.

Being the CEO, I coordinated with the marketing effort and the collaborations with other companies. We were able to secure joint ventures with companies like Great India Outdoors, CampusMag, Cybersteering.com and even Coke. Though the site had to be shut down about 1 year later (July 2000) for want of funding, the experience provided a rich insight into how an actual business project is implemented and how an e-business works.

A point to be noted here is that we must have been one of the very few dot.com ventures that closed down after making (and not loosing) money!

·         I was the cultural secretary in college and house captain in school. I still often organize and compeer for various cultural/official functions held in my organization, viz.’ Polaris Software Labs Ltd. .
