Manager (International Projects), Business Development and Marketing             August 2001 - date

Description of Duties:

In addition to my duties as Deputy Manager, my duties now include:

·                      Identify Business Opportunities through various sources for International Projects, explore new business opportunities and markets around the globe with emphasis on Africa and South East Asia and identify & prioritize target countries in East Africa.

·                      Promote project marketing services to other international consulting firms and institutions; maintain close relationship with local consulting firms for mutual cooperation relating to business development and consultancy

·                      Assist in formulating marketing policies and strategies.

·                      Identify and provide information on likely competitors and firms who could be approached for alliances on specific bids and subsequent project implementation.

·                      Establish liaison with prospective overseas partners, representatives and independent consultants for Association Arrangements / Joint Ventures.

·                      Represent the company in business seminars and conferences to market the services of the firm.

Deputy Manager, Business Development and Marketing                           January 2001 - July 2001

Description of Duties:

In addition to my duties as the Assistant Manager, my responsibilities in the position of a Deputy Manager included:

·                      Prepare Expression of Interests (EOI), Pre-qualification documents and proposals for prospective projects for both domestic and overseas projects.

·                      Upon Shortlisting of the firm on the basis of the EOI prepared for a project, assist the division in the preparation of Detailed Technical and Financial Proposals for the same.

·                      Maintain and Update the database of both domestic and International consultants and establish contact with them for prospective opportunities to work for the firm on domestic as well as international assignments.

·                      Establish and maintain contacts with several publishing agencies and funding institutions with regard to marketing the services of the company and updating the company profile in the records of such organizations, such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank etc.

·                      Assist the senior management of the company in the review and analysis of progress reports prepared by the Site Personnel on projects for submission to the Client.

Assistant Manager, Business Development and Marketing                                    June 2000 – January 2001

Description of Duties:

·                      Preparation and improvement of the Project Data Sheets of the firm, highlighting the experience in various sectors for presentation to the prospective clients  / Financial Institutions.

·                      Assist in identifying Business Opportunities for Domestic & International Projects and explore new opportunities around the globe, in addition to maintaining a strong client base in India

·                      Assist in the internal audit of the various divisions of the company w.r.t. ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

·                      Assist in the preparation of Financial Proposals.

Key Accomplishments at ICT

·                      Active member of the Business Development division of ICT that has registered a 37% growth in turnover, over a period of two years.

·                      Identified new business opportunities in South East Asia (Sri Lanka, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos etc) and Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania etc.) and assisted the division in increasing the success rate in procurement of projects.

·                      Key member of the Business Development division that prepared winning Technical and Financial Proposals for the firm for projects in new International markets including, Philippines, Mongolia, Bangladesh etc. as also several projects in India.

·                      Played a major role in restructuring and redefining the content and structure of the database for both domestic and external consultants at ICT and made recommendations to the top management to maximize its long term benefits and usage.

Description of Duties:

In addition to the responsibilities as a Junior Assistant, my duties as a Senior Assistant also included:

·    Advising Domestic and International Clients on Double Tax Avoidance and other International Taxation issues based on the Double Tax Avoidance Agreements (DTAA) between countries.

·    Detailed Corporate and Individual Tax Return preparation, Review and Analysis.

·    Preparation of Proposal for Services for prospective Domestic and International clients, subject to approval of the Associate Director.

·    Carrying out Compliance Tax Review of clients on a quarterly basis and in the event of non-compliance of tax procedures, suggest measures for rectification.

Junior Assistant, Tax and Legal Services                                                     August 1998 – July 1999

Description of Duties:

·    Assisting the Managers in Corporate and Individual Tax Planning, preparation of Payroll and advising the client of disbursement of salary and Tax deduction at Source (TDS) procedures.

·    Expatriate Tax Planning, Structuring and Tax deduction advice.

·    Preparation of documents for obtaining Income Tax Clearance Certificate for both expatriates and corporate clients and procurement of certificate from the relevant authorities.

·    Advising corporate clients on Deduction of Tax at source (TDS) and preparation of annual TDS returns. 

Key Accomplishments at PwC

·    Chosen to work on projects of high importance and complexity such as Double Tax Avoidance Agreements on a team of experienced consultants for key clients, including Lufthansa Cargo, British Telecom and Heinz, among others.

·    Selected to work with a team of expert consultants in Pune, Maharashtra for tax structuring, planning and advice to expatriate personnel of Tetrapak Limited.

·    Worked on a key project involving tax structuring and planning for 10 years for ARD Correspondents, Germany and delivered time bound results.
