Scale Model Section

Welcome to the Scale section of the DRBC. This section has many different types of scale models ranging from 40 year old passenger liners, modern salavage and harbour tugs, numerous naval vessels including a submarine and aircraft carrier, a bulk tanker, fishing trawlers even a solar powdered vessel! The modellers are active every Sunday morning from 08h30 and are always keen to show off their models as they put them through theirs paces on the water. A wooden harbour is erected each Sunday for mooring and manoeuvring practice and a towing competitions are held occasionally.

Salvage Tug

This is one of the many beautifully finished salvage tugs in the club that can be seen on a Sunday. With a powerful motor and single screw making the operation of the vessel amazingly similar to her full size brothers. The detail in the finish is fantastic! Photo by Sheldon Mcglone

Naval Patrol Vessel

This beautifully built naval patrol vessel (HDML) is seen on manoeuvres in the war torn Eastbank of the Pond! Captain Ray Lorentz once again at the helm and is also the builder and owner of this well finished vessel. Photo by Sheldon Mcglone

Naval Patrol Vessel

One of the oldest ships in the club built, owned and operated by Steve Cazelet. The Winsor Castle is one of the regular callers in the DRBCs harbour, and smoke rings are often seen comming out of the funnel as this old passenger liner takes its passengers off on a pleasure cruise for the day! Steve has an array of very interesting ships and vessels and is the scale section organisers in the club. Photo by Sheldon Mcglone
