NEWS LETTER 2008

Compliments of the season to all you happy RCL sailors here in SA & to our overseas members spread out from USA, UK, OZ & Kiwi Land. It is going to be an exciting year with Gauteng hosting the National Championships as well holding our own Provincial Champs. Also on the calendar is the now established "Bush Bash" this, by popular request, has become an annual event to be held at the same venue. Dates for all these events have to be fixed as well as venues for the Provincials & Nationals. Wali is looking for suitable venues other than P.S.C. although the later has proved to be the most suitable, other clubs are as good but suffer from the weed problems, if Benoni & VLC have resolved this problem I would be pleased to be informed.

Christmas Chicken Regatta

Due to terrible wet weather conditions this had to be cancelled, the effort to reschedule it the weekend before Christmas did not work as most members had already committed to other functions, it was a pity as it was a very pleasant day, only RCL89 & RCL87 pitched to sail. RCL49 was there after a long stay away and after taking control of my boat and out sailing Rob he realised what he had been missing out on and went home to service his boat so he can come to join us for future meets.

Class Subscriptions

Yes it is that time of the year again but R60-00 is not that bad, you can do a direct deposit into the class bank account just use your sail number as a deposit reference. Attached is a list of all the Gauteng owners if everybody paid it would make us one of the strongest classes in the country, so do the right thing and PAY.
