Topic: Pecans
2009 crops look pretty good for the starting of the new season in Texas. All the trees in our area, South central Texas look good with pecans but its along way from having them in the sack. Good luck to everyone. For Equipment visit my website John Pape

Shelled Pecans
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Pecans
Shelled Pecans are some peoples favorite foods for Holiday Seasons and some eat shelled pecans all year round. The shelled nuts are used in baking and other cooked foods but also delicious just raw over ice cream or salads. How about roasted and salted or the pecan pie? This is the time of year to buy shelled pecans for the fresh new crop although they keep in the freezer up to two years. For good news to all and our website we have included a Buy Pecans Online Store, check it out and have Happy Holidays! John Pape

Pecan Harvest
Mood:  rushed
Topic: Pecans
Here we are in October and the Pecan Harvest is well on the way. In some areas early pecan varieties are being gathered and on the boarder and Mexico the budded pecans are being marketed. Rumor has it native pecans are going to sell for well over a dollar and lets hope they stay there. The harvesting equipment is still selling fast and I belive theres going to be a shortage of equipment especially for the new guys starting. To view equipment go here Equipment Link or to buy new equipment call toll free 888-688-7273. John Pape

Pecan Meetings
Mood:  chillin'
Topic: Pecans
Hi everyone, on September 22nd 2004, the Guadalupe Pecan Growers are having a meeting at the old Agriculture building in Seguin Texas. If you know of other events or meetings please post them. The Pecan South Magazine has some entries and they would be helpful if some of those were posted. Seguin has it's Pecan Festival coming soon also but I am not sure of date? John Pape
