Welcome to the rules are simple you must read all the rule or else your submission will not be entered in the contest. ^_^
1) Before submitting a story, READ ALL RULES. Any story that does not comply with the rules will be deleted.
2) Stories may be nominated by anyone.
3) Nominations/entries will be accepted until December 14th 2004(deadline) Any fics submitted after this date will not be looked at.
4) Fics nominated previously in this contest cannot be nominated again. Have to keep thing fresh and new, ne?
5) Any given author may only have three (2) stories per category.
6) A given story may compete in a maximum of three (3) categories.
7) Entered / nominated fics must have a URL, direct or as close as possible. You have no idea how much of a hassle it is to format fics from first time writers using Word... >_<
8) No person may nominate more than ten (5) stories total (their own or other people's), for the sake of the webmaster's sanity. Any nominations beyond the fifth will be ignored.
9) I think this is pretty obvious, but just in case -- these do not need to be new fics.
10) No incomplete multipart stories will be accepted. Just hold on to it until you finish it--there is always next time!. It's very difficult for judges to evaluate a story that's only half done.
11) The minimum requirement when nominating is: Name of fic, name of author, name of nominator (if different), e-mail address of author, e-mail address of nominator (if different), category, and URL/text file of the fic. If any one of these is missing, I will delete the nomination e-mail.
12) Only 30 fics can be nominated per category. As much as I'd like to raise that number, I have been reminded *ahem* that my judges are only human and, since they have to not only read but judge all these, I figured 30 was a good enough number. Heh...
13) If the fic contains Lemon scenes, you must tell me. Fics containing lemon will be marked with a [Lemon].
14) There must be at least four nominations in a category for it to be run.
15) There is a zero tolerance policy regard plagiarism.
16) This is pretty darn obvious, but no un-beta-ed fics are allowed. There are rules for grammar and punctuation -- follow them. A missed comma here or there won't go against you, but there is a limit. The judges have to read these things, you know. This also goes for spelling. I mean, come on, people... This is a contest...
17) Nominations can, and will, be removed at any time at the request of the author.
18) If I can't get in contact with a nominated author (and by this I mean that I send an e-mail to inform them of their nomination and it comes back to me as a bad address), their fic(s) will be un-nominated. What fun would it be to have an author win when I can't even tell them about it?
19) As much as people might want to my fanfics cannot be nominated. I'd have to judge my own work think about it >_< (I'm Raven's Midnight Light) That's All for The Rules.
