My Hardcore Birdhouse experience May 9/3
It was the most hardcore day of my life. Being it I lived in a small town all my life and now I live in Calgary, which is not covered in pros, this was my first pro skater experience. I can't even tell you how good it feels to see them ripping it up and right in front of you, not just on the TV. It was so awesome. Jeremy Kline, Willy "freaking" Santos, Donny Barley, Matt Allen, Vinny Vegas, Matt Ball, and sorry to say 2 AMS I had no clue in hell who they were. They were all good though. And yes, Tony Hawk chickened out and half the people were there to see him. I never would have guessed how fanatical those kids would be. They were insane. When the birdhouse team was giving away prizes and shit, I can't tell you how many times I got knocked over( I am a small little whimpy girl), which is also why I couldn't see half the fricking demo. Some little kids were in front of me and they were standing on a skateboard, which made those little bastards taller than me. Also when Matt Allen was sitting on a ramp, some kids were yelling at him to sign stuff, so he did, and he was like right in front of me. He was bombarded by kids, like it was literally insane. That's why I decided to not get any autographs as earlier planned. And this makes my next addmission very painfull. I was walking out of the Source skatepark and guess who should be coming in. None other than WILLY "FREAKING" SANTOS!!!And he was totally by himself and like literally a foot away from me. So what did I do? I decided to do the nice thing and let him get away, no doubt if I asked him for an autograph he would be bombarded by kids. So Willy should be thanking me yo. I know these pros are used to this but I guess I am just too nice of a person to harass them, cause in my mind this is a form of harrassment. Yes, I know I am demented....I should be posting pics whenever the hell they get devolped and scanned, which could take a while, I don't have a scanner and need to go home to do that....Anyways, I still walk around the house and say Willy Freaking Santos every five seconds, which is funny beacause none of my roomies know who he is.... :0)
