Lindsay Shantz
I am returning to the faculty of Applied Health Sciences for my third year of
Kinesiology in the fall, and when I grow up I really want to be a five year old again
(maybe I'll settle for teaching them if that doesn't work out though).
Other Stuff about Me
Home Town
I have lived in the small town of Baden my entire life, not including the past two years
that I've spent in Residence at Conrad Grebel University College, and every time I come home
it seems as though a new subdivision has sprung up in the neighbourhood.
Family
I am the middle child in every sense of the word. My sister Andrea is three years older than me,
and my brother Daniel is three years my junior. We must be growing up since we can all three be at home at the same time
without fighting. My parents Bob and Judy are one year shy of their 30th wedding anniversary, and are keeping busy these
days helping to plan Andrea's wedding coming up in August.
Hobbies
I have a few things that keep me busy and entertained outside of school:
- Learning the Guitar -
I'm not sure how long you can still be "learning the guitar" before you just plain "suck at playing the
guitar", but I seem to be pushing those limits
- Knitting - I'm aware this passtime is usually reserved for the retired and the "young at
heart", not university students, but let me assure you it's quite the hobby
- Hanging out with Friends - once we've finally decided on some sort of activity
- Sports - playing, coaching, watching, you name it! Church league slo-pitch is keeping me busy this summer
Row for Heart
This summer I am participating in the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Row for Heart. I will be learning how to row at the
Kitchener-Waterloo Rowing Club for eight weeks, and then on Saturday August 7th, 2004 I will be participating in the
Row for Heart Regatta. Each rower is asked to raise pledges to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation. If you would like to
sponsor me, send me an e-mail at lindsayshantz@hotmail.com and for more heart
and stroke information, visit www.heartandstroke.ca
