Objective:
Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the musical concepts through listening as a means of extending aural awareness and communicating ideas about music in social, cultural and historical contexts.

Outcomes:
The students will be able to demonstrate that they can use ICT applications to research information about composers, the different periods of music and access MIDI files.

The students will be able to
demonstrate an understanding of the musical concepts through listening discriminating, analysing, discussing and recording musical ideas.

The students will be able to demonstrate an ability to aurally explore music of various periods.

The students will be able to demonstrate in the listening activity an ability to distinguish and pick out specified notation in the score which includes metric groupings of three notes  in simple time.
