Choosing A Rat

To bring home a baby rat for the first time is a amazing experience, but before you do you should be prepared. There new home should be ready with every thing there going to need.

When it does come time to pick out a rat its a good idea to look for some things: look for clean hair, no red eyes, no running nose and so on. They should be interested in what's going on around them and should approach your hand when/if you put it in there cage.

The next big question is a boy or a girl?

 Boys
  • Boys are laid back
  • Tend to grow larger
  • Mark their territory
more then girls (it also smells more).
 Girls
  • Playful
  • Smaller then male

It's also important to remember that two rats are better then one, it’s also a good idea to get them from the same litter because they tend to get along better.
