Bedding

When I first went to the pet store to pick a bedding for my rat's cage I was totally lost and unprepared. There were several different types of cedar and pine to chose from. Which one do I use? After I did a little more research on beddings I found out that both pine and cedar are not good for rats, they contain harmful toxics that are dangers to rats. They also contain oils to mask odors, but these oils are also harmful to rats.

In my own cage at home I us Care Fresh bedding, it's non toxic, biodegradable, dust-free and very absorbent. I Also use shredded paper because its cheep and saves me money. Though it needs to be changed about every other day to keep it fresh.
