En 1837, le Fort William, futur Fort Laramie, est un poste d'�changes commerciaux. Son aspect est celui que les Westerns nous ont rendu familier.

En 1851, le plan du Fort Laramie montre encore l'enceinte en bois. De nouveaux b�timents font leur apparition, en marche vers la transformation du poste � des fins militaires.

En 1874, le plan montre que l'enceinte a disparu; le fort militaire pr�sente un nouveau visage qui est typique de ce que nous devrions voir dans la plupart des Westerns �tant donn� la date de leur action.
