Born in East Orange, NJ I lived my first six years in Little Falls.
My family moved to Rockland County, NY in 1960 and with the exception of being away at college, this is where I lived for the next 20 years.
I graduated from Clarkstown High School (North)in 1972 and went on to Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY. As a Math/Science major I graduated with an A.A.S Degree in 1974. I then transferred to North Carolina State University School of Forest Resources in Raleigh, NC and graduated in 1976 with a B.S. Degree in Recreation and Park Administration.
I was married to Linda [Nilsen](North Rockland class of 1977)in 1980. We had identical twin sons, Andy and Matt born in 1985 and a third son, Mark was born in 1993. (click on their names for larger picture). Mark is beginning the 6th grade in the Middle school and still playing soccer in the community recreation league. Andy and Matt have graduated from Minisink Valley High School and BOCES Vo-Tech located in a rural area of Orange County; Andy studied Art and Computer Graphics in advertising and Matt studied Computers in the Enginering Core curriculum which will include A+ computer repair certification, Cisco Networking Certification and C++ progtammming. Andy and Matt are also involved in publishing the Minisink Valley High School web site. Matt also works part-time as Webmaster for Chester Valley Equipment the local John Deere equipment dealership. Without their assistance, this web site might not be possible.
I have been employed by Verizon Communications (formerly AT&T/NY Telephone Company, NYNEX and Bell Atlantic) since 1979 where I have held positons as Operator, Installation and Repair Technician, Customer Service Representative and since 1992 as a Central Office (Switching Equipment) Technician.
I have recently graduated with honors (2003) from Dutchess Community College receiving another Associate in Applied Science Degree in Telecommunications Technology. The program was a collaboration between NYNEX and SUNY and is tailored for its employees while still meeting SUNY guidelines for
a degreed program. This website was initially started as an assignment for one of the telecommunications courses.
