my heart, stuck in silence
finally trembled to sound

my eyes, scared to see
finally left the ground

weak pulse
hidden tears
embraced me for years

strength to move on,
hiding from my past

you've given me this
h o p e f u l l n e s s
that healed hearts last

sadness into smiles,
pain suddenly unknown,
true happiness finally shown

taken me from darkness
into the light
smiles that i no longer fight

for you a simple thank you
just wouldnt do...
so this goes out to you:

when you see my eyes bright
& my teeth shining white
know they've been restrained
for so long, been contained

that because of you...
they've been enlightened
and only since you,
became brightened.

Trapped in a fantasy by an untimely muse,
but nothing can be worse than losing you.
Drowning in an ocean so deep and blue,
but nothing can be worse than losing you.
Abducted by aliens and stranded on the moon,
but nothing can be worse than losing you.
Executed by a jury for a crime I'm accused,but still nothing can be worse than losing you.
Even starving to death from lack of food,
but nothing can be worse than losing you.
Fighting a battle against love only to lose,
is the worst that could happen cause I'd be losing...

I can?t seem to find my smile,
I?ve looked all over.
I went to the park,
where I thought I saw it last.
But all I saw there were memories
And good times gone past.
Then I went to the beach,
Where we walked in the sand
But all I saw there were images
Of us hand in hand.
I went down by the river,
Where we once would sit,
Where you'd tightly hold me,
I was sure that was it.
But my smile wasn?t there,
It wasn?t to be found.
I tried so hard to remember
The last time I saw it around.
Then I remembered.
I remembered the last time I
Smiled so true,
The last time I smiled,
I smiled with you

...small town girl livin' in a big city with big hopes and big dreams...
