Guava-Man Hiking Sticks

If you've ever been hiking in Hawaii, you know what it means to be climbing up and down some rather steep slopes. Wish you had kept that hiking stick you left behind at the trailhead for someone else to use?

Kuliouou Ridge Trail (elevation 2,028 feet).

Now you can order your very own Guava-Man Hiking Stick, handcrafted in Hawaii from strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum), a light-colored and very dense wood. You will also be helping to protect Hawaii's fragile environment. Strawberry guava is a very aggressive weed that forms thick stands and crowds out native vegetation.

Cost: just $39.95 plus shipping and handling. Send me an e-mail for availability and S&H costs. Please indicate size desired (44", 50", or 56"). All sizes plus/minus 1".

- Simple But Effective -

Each hiking stick is individually selected and handcrafted. The bark is stripped away and the rough wood is left to cure naturally. Next, a light stain and sealer are applied. Strawberry guava is a very hard and dense wood so varnishing is not necessary to preserve the wood's natural beauty. A wrist strap and rubber tip (removable) are added as finishing touches.

- From Kaena Point to Haleakala -

"I've used my Guava-Man Hiking Stick on trails all over Oahu and even took it on an airplane to Maui to hike through Haleakala Crater."
