The Moon and Beyond…
By Puns McKenna

It sounds like we're talking about a Disney film, doesn't it? Tomorrow Land was such a great conveyance of lofty ideas. But I digress. What we're talking about here is going back to the moon and traveling to the solar bodies beyond.

According to the new Obama space panel, we don't have enough funding to go much passed near Earth asteroids. Frankly, I've always thought that the most expensive part of space travel was actually getting off the ground. The set up alone costs a small fortune. This panel of experts is complaining that we don't have enough money to be able to complete all of the tasks that President bush had planned, nor that we have enough to go to Mars any time soon.

What has me wondering is why the heck they're complaining. This is the presidency that doesn't care about how much money they spend. This is the presidency that has us in a $9 trillion dollar deficit! What the heck do they care if going back to the moon and Mars is going to cost $3 billion dollars over the current annual budget of NASA? Next they'll return to sending animals into space. We all know what PETA would say about that too… or do we? Who knows, maybe they'll say that animals really are the better way to go.

Monkeys with typewriters if you ask me. Sure, animals could go to the moon. They could even go to mars. The only catch is, they can only do what limited things they've been trained to do. Animals cannot be trained to think outside the box. They can't make necessary decisions when the unexpected arises. That's what us measly humans are for.

I've got this really great idea! What we can do is cut spending somewhere else. We could cut it from Healthcare reform. Healthcare reform is probably one of the biggest money drains that the Democrats in government have been trying to institute since their trophy president took the office to hell. They want to take us back to the stone ages, it would seem… or at very least back to the days when everyone else was winning the space race.

Haven't they ever heard that once you let him out, you can't put the Djinn back in the bottle? It's true that going into space costs an enormous amount of money, but nowhere near enough to make it non viable. It's all a matter of juggling the oranges and apples and bananas around.

I don't know why, but I suddenly find that very amusing. Likening the national budget to fruit makes me think of how the government has become more like monkey's with typewriters. Not to mention how stupid they apparently have become. Trying to pull in the reins on the man-space program is a feeble attempt to kill America as one of the greatest countries in the world. They have no clue what they are doing to the nation that has faced numerous hardships. They are trying to hobble us, like they used to do in the dark ages.

I say that they should simply quit while they have heads. Let us go to space as planned by a president who gave two bits about our country and quit behaving like drunken monkeys.
