Captain of 60' Staysail Schooner Trimaran "Kona Dream" in Kailua Bay, Kona, Hawaii. Daily cruises include three voyages per day carrying passengers for: morning Snorkel trip, early-afternoon Dolphin Encounter, and sunset Dinner Cruise. Responsibilities include passenger safety, vessel handling, narrations and share of maintenance.
Capable pilot in open and restricted waters including Whale and Dolphin encounters plus Mediterrenean style docking at the Kailua pier. Narrations include marine safety, Humpback whales, Dolphins, coral reefs and fishes, and Hawaiian & Kona history. Maintenance duties include repairs of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems. Responsible for tracking personal expenditures and remuneration relating to vessel maintenance.
December 2001 - May 2002
Narrator & Engineer aboard the glass-bottom boat "Coral See" in Kailua Bay, Kona, Hawaii. Responsibilities include passenger safety, narrations and share of maintenance. Narrations include marine safety, Humpback whales, Dolphins, coral reefs and fishes, and Hawaiian & Kona history. Maintenance duties include electrical repairs to GalleyMaid waste systems, fresh water pressure system, navigation lighting, battery isolation switching, and PA/Music loudspeakers. Other general maintenance items typical of shipboard duties but also includes cleaning exterior of glass-bottom viewing ports using SCUBA gear. I am also responsible for tracking personal expenditures and remunerations.
General Over 30 years on and around boats. Crewed on several sailing yachts in races and cruises throughout 15 years. Hired as crew for two ocean voyages from Hawaii to San Francisco. Certified as PADI Open Water SCUBA Diver.

Avid YRA and PHRF San Francisco Bay racer, including North Bay Series, Olympic Circle, Farallone Islands, Duxbury Reef and Half Moon Bay ocean races. Active in Vallejo Yacht Club races aboard Newport 30, Hunter 37.5, Hunter 42 and Columbia 40.

Piloted bareboat Endeavor 42 during 10-day sailing vacation in the Virgin Islands with my family.
- 1991
San Francisco to Catalina Island ocean race aboard Hunter 37.5. Duties were foredeck, jib tender and spinnaker handler. Assisted with cooking and navigation underway.
- 1990-1991
Two ocean passages with Captain Bill Carber from Kaneoe Bay, Oahu to San Francisco Bay, California aboard a Passport 40 and an Endeavor 37. Stood regular watches and cooked two meals a day for entire crew of four. Each crew member was responsible for independent celestial navigation throughout the voyage. Effected repairs underway including in-water auto-helm reattachment, cleared masthead halyard jam, plus numerous mechanical and electrical fixes.

At age fourteen began sailing on my father's 24-ft. Bahama Islander and later on his 30-ft. Tahiti ketch. Have sailed San Pablo and San Francisco bays extensively. Made multiple coastal trips to California's Channel Islands, Drakes Bay, Monterey and Santa Cruz with my father.
