Summer Boot Camp is an ideal program for students who want an immersive summer day camp experience to hone their performance and ensemble expertise as well as learn valuable new music industry-related skills. Students spend 2 full weeks working in a hands-on atmosphere learning songwriting fundamentals, and will collaboratively write and perform a piece. They'll also track and record their creations!
Not only will they meet and interact with other talented young musicians, they're also given unique access to established music professionals who will share their experience and knowledge to help students understand some of the options open to them in the songwriting and recording industry.

What's the registration deadline? Is there an early enrollment discount?
The registration deadline for all sessions is May 15th. Children who enroll on or before April 17th will receive a $100 discount. Is this only for existing Rock School students, or can new students enroll in these classes?
We absolutely encourage new students to enroll in a prep class - it's a great way to get ready to join the summer or fall semester at Rock School!
Should students bring their own instruments?
Guitarists/bassists should bring their own instruments; drummers/keyboard players don't need to.
Can a student be enrolled in the regular summer semester AND the prep course?
This course can be taken separately or in addition to our regular summer program. This is a way for students to learn new songwriting and recording skills that are not taught during the year-round program.
Can students attend more than one session?
Students are absolutely welcome to join us for multiple sessions.
Does my child have to be proficient at his/her instrument in order to participate?
Your child can be an advanced beginner, but basic performance proficiency is required. Students should also be able to play and notate basic chords. Please contact the school for more information.
How many students will be in each session?
We cap the program at 20 students per session to maximize one-on-one attention given to each student.
Is lunch included?
We'll have a lunch to celebrate the student performances on the final day of the program. For all other days, students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch so they can stay focused on the program. Students may only leave the school premises with signed parent permission.
