This site is dedicated to my father
Apology from Jan: Please note new
email address, Jan Morton
I am descended from John Cram & Margaret Whitelaw who married in St
Martins Perthshire Scotland in 1743. Over the years I have gathered a vast
amount of information on this family and others who have a Cram, Cromb,
Cramb etc connection. The database includes information on both maternal
and paternal ancestors, and also infomation on my husbands ancestry from
the Isle of Mann.
If you can help fill a gap or would like your Cram (and varients) family
included on this database please contact me.
There will be mistakes, ommissions and typo's, for these I apologise.
This database is only back online (offsite) due to the number of requests
I have had asking for its return. It is the result of many years research
by myself and many others worldwide. If would like a complete gedcom of
a particular line please contact me. If sending me information and gedcoms
to be included in the database please include contact details both email
and snail mail so I can put others in contact with you.
There will soon be a links page for site which contain content relating
to any Cram(b), Cromb, Crum(b) Croom(e) etc family. The important thing
with family research is to keep an open mind, do not disregard a family
connection because of a surname spelling or because nanna never said she
had a uncle Bill. Families 200 years ago in some ways are still the same
as families today, they had disagreements, they stopped talking to each
and various members moved away from the family home. The one advantage we
have today is that we can pick up a telephone or send an email, our ancestors
had no such choice and this goes a long way towards explaining why brothers
and sisters, parents and children lost contact.
While I am more than happy to share what I have, (otherwise what is the
point of doing it), I expressly forbid the copying of this site its entirety.
