2008 has been a fun year
albeit off to a delayed start. We were scheduled to go on a Country
Music Caravan but it was canceled before we left Hawaii. We found,
however, that another caravan was going to Alaska that would fit into our
schedule. We signed up and the rest is history. On 11 June, on
our way to Butte, Montana we stopped at the Calf-A for breakfast. It was
a converted school house and had a nice homey atmosphere and, the food and
service were second to none. When we left it was starting to snow.
We drove in light snow showers all day and even had to set up in the snow.
We didn't get a lot of snow overnight but when we got to Great Falls,
Montana the next day, we learned they had 6 inches of snow! We spent the next
couple of days getting our rigs inspected, meeting the other Caravaners and
otherwise getting ourselves ready for our Alaskan adventure.
