Breadth Abstract: SBSF 8310 Theories of Organizational and Social Systems

The Breadth section of this treatise

examines the connection and dynamics between the whole child

and the educational, social, and organizational

systems that influence child growth and development.

Does the health of the cell body, the student's body, and the global

body have a relationship not yet understood nor utilized by 21st

Century educational systems? How will advances in quantum physics,

brain-based research, and bioethical behavior patterns influence new

paradigms of educational excellence for the benefit of the child growing

up in a digital age? These questions will be answered by tracing the

development of two different viewpoints or ways of seeing reality, from

the ancient Greeks through the empiricists into the 20th Century

development of theories of open systems, chaos, and bio-synchronicity.

The major theorists examined, analyzed, and contrasted in the following

scholarly treatise include, but are not limited to, Ludwig von

Bertalanffy, Laszlo, Maltz, Vygotsky, Jung, Brofenbrenner, and Senge.
