What is this sexy thing?
It's my new baby,
a scratch built '99 Minicocker, and it shoots like an absolute
dream! Believe it or not, when I started building the gun, I had no prior experience
with autocockers, and I think I did a pretty
good job! I did the timing and trigger
work, and if I had access to a vertical mill, I probably would have milled it myself, too!
What's on it?
I guess the front end is as good a place to start as any... Driving the
pneumatics is a Palmer's Micro Rock. Also, there's a KAPP 4-way valve
with the Titanium shaft, and a Palmer's QuikRam. The KAPP was a little
leaky at first, but it has been fixed and gives me no problems.
You're also looking at
the business end of a J&J stainless spiral ported barrel. It's
medium bore, and shoots darts with the paint that I use (usually RP Premium
or Powerball).
The other specs on the gun are: DL 45 frame, Hogue wraparound rubber grips, KAPP sear and Hammer
kit, DL HVLP valve, stock bolt, G-Force Ball detent, and a Chrome Shocktech
beavertail. LAPCO timing and cocking rods and all stainless screws
round out the package.
The
Primary regulator is a female
threaded bottomline Palmer's Stabilizer.
The
cradle is on a Check It Tuck-Tite drop
forward.
Velocity usually stays +/-4 fps or so, and
that's
single-reg'd CO2... not that bad!
The entire setup
is VERY compact, I love it! The only
problem
that I've run into is when I'm really tucked
in
and shooting; the back block will smack
the tip
of my visor and it can be pretty annoying.
And the eye candy?
Since the body I received was
raw aluminum, it just cried out for some milling
and custom ano... who am I to argue?
The Millwork was done by Jeremy Garrett
of
Jackal
Machine, and it's pretty clean work. As impressive as extremely
milled guns are, I don't really care for
them. I prefer something simpler
with clean lines... I'm one of those "Less
is more!" types.
The
body was milled out identically on both
sides, only the serial number is still on
the
right side of the gun. It has the
standard
"fake" pump arm slot, and a bit of sight
rail
milling. The Front block was also
cut down,
but not as much as those butterfly style
blocks.

For that added "trick" look, I got an AKA
back block...
Like virtually every other custom gun in
the world, this one was anodized by
PK
Selective. It was supposed to be a counter fade splash job, but
the hands of fate
had something else in mind, apparently.
When it came back, the gun looked so
sweet, I decided to keep it how it was.
The base is forest green with green splash.

They may or may not take a while to load...
one last thing, she's changed a bit since then, so new pics are in the gallery...
I'd like to thank the Academy...
