Narrative #1 12/13/02
As this is my first narrative, I’m going to include what has happened so far. The first idea for my senior project was to research some particular invention and
then redesign it so it would be more useful, or make some sort of improvement to it. This line of thought brought me to hydrodynamics and aerodynamics and I
started thinking about radio controlled planes and boats. Finally, after a few conversations with my mentor, I decided to research invisible signals such as infrared
and radio.
I have done the research packet and the first two self and mentor assessments. I have done some preliminary research on both infrared and radio waves. I
have organized a binder and set up a system on a laptop to help keep track of visited websites and all written portions of senor project.
At 10:45 this Wednesday I presented my senor project proposal to the senor project panel. It went well, but it was decided that I needed to narrow my topic
by changing my essential question to something like this- What are the different applications for radio and infrared communications in today’s society. We discussed
how I might even want to narrow it down more by focusing on one type of communication.
