I have found an easy way to do this with OE.
You won't have to know anything about HTML.
Not exactly a Sig. file but works great.
Just start a new message.
Choose your Font - Color - etc.
Type in whatever you want. For instance -
Have a Great Day!
Place your cursor
where you want your image to be.
Go up to Insert - Picture - Browse your Computer.
Find Image you want to use - click on it - click open - click OK.
If you like it - go to File - Save As
Choose the folder you want to save it to.
Give the file a name - don't add an extension to it.
That is done for you - in the save as type box-
you will see .eml - leave that in. Click save.
Now go to where you saved it - it will be a small white envelope.
Double click on it - your mail program opens with your Sig.
Just type your message & send.
This will be your Template.
You can use it over & over again & the original stays the same.
Make several different ones. Have Fun!
Basic text sig. tag to put in your Outlook Express Email
Open Notepad and copy and paste the code below
Remove the periods in front of the tags <. and .>
These are here so you will see the tags on this page.
In this example you would remove the five periods.
<.img src="C:\sigtags\smcatcoffee1.gif"><.br><.font face="balloon" color="#00BFFF".>Have a Great Day<./font>
Go up to file in Notepad and click save as
When the box comes up - in the first line - Save in: Choose where you want to save it Now would be a good time to make a new folder on your C drive and name it Sig.'s and keep all the sig. files that you will want to make in there.
Also any graphics you want to use.
In the line below in File name: sig.1 or whatever you want but at the end put .html - You must put the .html behind the name or it won't work In the line Save as - Choose all files - then click save.
Now go find the file you saved - it will have the big E logo just like a web page because that is exactly what it is. The only difference is it is on your hard drive. When you open it - you will see Have a Great Day! and whatever image you put into the same folder. You can make any changes you want here - change the font face - color - text - when you x out - save the changes.
Go to OE - Click on Tools - Options - Signatures - Under Edit Signature - Click File - Browse - Click on it - Apply - OK. You can put a check mark in the box - Add Signatures to all outgoing messages or you can just create mail, click inside body of message, go up to insert - click sig. to just use occasionally.
Take this image above to practice with if you like
Would you like some scrolling text - called a Marquee.
Just copy and paste this code - remember to take out the extra periods.
<.font color="blue".><.marquee>Have A Wonderful Day!<./marquee><./font>
