Calendar - I have decided to give this a try just for fun.
Would you like to have your own calendar on your Desktop?
You don't have to have any knowledge of HTML
I will walk you through it and in no time you will have your own calendar on your Desktop or wherever you choose to put it.
You will be able to go in and add anything you would like to your calendar, links, reminders, etc.
I think it is great for putting all your favorites in myself.
Ready? Let's get started then!
First I want you to open Notepad.
Go to the start menu - All Programs - Accessories - copy and paste the tags below into Notepad
Minimize Notepad - and leave it in the taskbar.
Go up to the box - place your cursor at the beginning of the first word - don't let go of your mouse - keep going till you see the last word and all text is highlighted - now right click and choose copy.
Or right click in box - select all - it is all highlighted - right click again - copy.
This is all copied to your clipboard - you won't see it but it is there.
Now bring Notepad up from the taskbar and between the body tags - place your cursor right after <body> click enter so you are in the next line - click paste - all that was sitting on your clipboard waiting to be pasted is here.
Go up to save as - not save -
Find where you want to save it.
In File name - type whatever you want to name it and after the name put .html - don't forget the period - This is important and with this extension it is saved as a webpage.
In the box Save as Type - click - All Files. Now click save.
X out of Notepad, you are done with it.
Now go find your calendar - it will have a large blue E, just like any other Webpage has - the only difference is this is on your hard drive and not uploaded to a site.
Go up to view, source and make your changes.
You will notice I have a link to my two Websites - this is to show you how to put in a link, just backspace mine out and put yours in. I put two links on one date to show you how to put more then one on same day with the break tag.
After making changes and you click X to go out, a box will come up asking if you want to keep the changes, click yes.
You do this each time you change anything. Click refresh to see your changes.
Change the background color, text, font, whatever you want.
The link below will show you all this information. I wish that I would have had that link when I first started learning HTML.
Well that's all folks! If you use this I would appreciate your signing my Guest Book and if you have any questions please drop me a line.
If you would rather not put links on the days, just reminders, then at the bottom of calendar put your links by using the anchor tags, check the view source and learn how.
One more thing, if you mess up, you can always go back to my page and get the code and start over.
