Talib's Dream Realm

-2 Hot 2 Handle

Dreama looked around the room for a place to put her new Imajin poster. Perfect! She found a spot right next to her favorite old picture of Talib. She took the old picture down to read what he had wrote on the back at a concert some time back, when her aunt called her from the other room like it was a life or death situation. She puts it down and goes to the other room just for her aunt to ask her if she remembered where the remote was. "No I don't," she answered with a smirk on her face, "ain't it too late to be watching t.v. anyway?" Her aunt answers and said, "Quit being smart, but it is past your bedtime now that I think about it." Dreama laughs and goes back to her room with the picture of Talib, she falls asleep with it on her nightstand so that it can be the first thing she looks at when she wakes up.

Dreama: There's been thunderstorms for the past 3 nights...don't those things ever go on break?

Karisma: I read something about this somewhere...

Dreama looks over at her friend from where she's perched on her bed and smirks.

Dreama: Please--spare me. You're always reading some weird dramatic stupidness about something, and it never comes true. Remember when you said Earth was going to be invaded because it was exactly 2 days before some comet came back, and remember the other time when you got me all worried because you said that everyone was going to have to rely on the bottled water supply and I started stacking up cuz you said global warming was really just something you read about where aliens--

Karisma: Ok stop...I won't tell you, but I bet if it does come true you'd rather have known than be kickin yourself.

Karisma leans over and grabs the remote, to change the channel.

Dreama: (thinks about it, then decides knowing can't hurt) Alright...what did you read?

Karisma: Hmm, now that I think about it: that's ok. I'd rather be able to laugh at you when it does happen.

Dreama: Girl, stop playing. You bout to be watching TV at your own house.

Karisma: Uh huh, see how people change when they don't get what they want? (she laughs) Anyway I read that when there are so many thunderstorms, or any sort of natural event occurring frequently there's a shift happening within the universal powers. So basically to make up for it, there's going to either be something really good coming or something really bad within the next 3 nights.

Dreama: Huh? (takes back the remote) I was right before, pure nonsense...See now, thas why Cassie in the hospital from calling up psychic hotlines and following everything they say. Leaded her straight to Mr. axe murderer instead of Mr. right. You can't believe everything you hear Riz.

Karisma: Alright, think what you want then. All I know is that I'm watching out. Ooh look, that movie with them people is on...you got anymore popcorn?

Dreama: Yeah check in that box over by the lamp.

The day goes on and they continue to watch movies until it's time for Karisma to leave. Once she leaves, Dreama goes to take a quick shower and put on some sweats before Talib comes over.

Dreama: Sit down on the floor, (points to a spot) Yeah just throw that shoe somewhere. I want to show you something.

Talib: This room's a mess.

Dreama: Whatever. It's beautiful--Anyway, lemme show you this move I came up with for the show.

Talib: (leans back against the wall) That's it? A move for the show (shakes his head and picks up a magazine lying next to him on the floor).

Dreama: I know you did not just do that, after all the stupid-

Talib: (looks up with a smirk) Go ahead, do your dance thing--just wanted to see that face you make when you get upset.

Dreama: (aims a stuffed animal at his head) Lemme just put some music on to go with my routine.

She puts on paradise by LL and Amerie and starts doing her dance routine for the local talent show.

Talib: (once she's done) You're not gonna do that little thing at the end, right?

Dreama: Why?

Talib: Too much dipping and shaking, I don't think I need all them other guys looking at you like that.

Dreama: (laughs) Boy, I think you've worn out your welcome. Besides, I've been shaking what my momma gave me since I was three...it's about time guys start paying attention.

Talib: Yeah...right. I'll see you tomorrow, I'm gonna see if my mom needs any help downstairs with the shop.

Dreama: Alright, and thank her again for letting me stay here.

After he leaves, she finishes unpacking her things and settles in to her new home away from home. She liked being there, but she missed being able to see her family whenever and hanging out with all her old friends. Ever since she went to NY to get her big chance, she hadn't had much time to relax. Meeting up with Talib and Karisma was one of her luckiest breaks ever, Karisma was a dancer as well and always had something interesting to talk about. Talib's mom owned a comfortable coffee shop called Jive Java that had some of the best poetry/slam nights in town, and once Talib heard she needed a place to stay he quickly offered a room right above the shop that his mom had recently put up for rent.

TALIB is a superhero...tries to cope with should he tell Dreama or not.
