1. Do you ever feel intimidated by
your brother in anyway? (as in him being famous and well known). No I
don't.
2. When Talib joined Imajin do you think his personality towards you and
other family members changed? What Talib doesn't always seem to realize that
we, as his family have better intentions for him than anyone else, and often
doesn't want to listen to us because he wants to do what he wants to do or other
people want him to do. This is only to a certain extent though, as one of the
managers in the group said to my mom, he is very well behaved and wouldn't do
anything in private that he wouldn't do with his mother around.
3. Are there points in Talib's life that you feel sorry for him to have gone
into the music business? Only when he goes online. When he's at concerts I
kinda envy him, and at home, everyone treats him normally that lives in the
area.
4. The attention your brother gets now; would take make you more cautious of
who he dates in the future? That they may not like him for who he really is?
As far as who Talib dates, I get very protective of him in that respect. I don't
really want him to date, but that's because I know how many girls are. If he
does date, I would want him to choose a honest, sweet girl. Someone who he could
seriously consider marrying, and would seriously considering marrying him, for
him, and not for his fame.
5. Do you ever feel in anyway that your brother has been cheated of a
"Normal" childhood? He hasn't had a normal childhood, but then none of us
have. With Talib though, I wouldn't say he was cheated out of it, because he
liked the differences.
6. Do you fell as if you ARE the father figure in Talib's life? For most
of my life I did what was right and stayed away from what was wrong to be an
example to my siblings, I never tried to be a father figure in their life
though, until I realized the effect not having a father around had on me. Then I
decided I definately wanted to make sure Talib had an older male he could turn
to if he has any problems. I'm there for him, it's his choice if he wants to
turn to me.
7.Having Talib as your brother do you get more attention from people than you
used to? Like people that you weren't friendly with are now starting to like and
talk to you? Over the internet, I've made quite a few new friends that I
wouldn't have made if Talib wasn't famous, they didn't know me before that, so
they couldn't have disliked me. In real life, I still only have one true friend
that I could turn to for anything. I have a couple of Muslim friends I recently
met in school who were extremely accepting of me but I don't feel the bond with
them that I have with D'wayne. But not many people even know Talib's my brother
and many wouldn't care 'cause they're a bit older than any of the Imajin members
and aren't that hung up on them.
8. At any point by just looking at Talib do you feel that fame has gotten the
best of him? Well if it has, he doesn't show it. He is very down to earth
and approachable.
9. When Talib returns home from a Show, tour or the studio is he the "Talib"
(you know) or does he act differently? Talib is always the same Talib, he
performs on stage with the same enthusiasm now that he had when he performed
with us in our band when we weren't famous. He even looks for us in the audience
and when he sees us he'll smile and keep glancing towards us.
10. Is your relationship with your brother stronger now or is it weaker?
I'm not really sure, because the strength of our relationship might not have so
much to do with him being in the group, as me being in college. When I went to
college my relationship with my whole family was weaker, but when I came back it
was stronger. But when I was going through my stressful teenage years before
college I wasn't that close to my family, only my best friend.
