All Bout' Bert

Okay folks, this is a little bit of info about My Uncle Bertie you don't know.
- He was on born July 27,1965 in Queens, NY to the blessed parents Mr & Mrs. Bertram Price
- At the age of three he started to show musical talent.
- He attended Hillcrest H.S in Jamaica, Queens and conducted the school orchestra at his graduation in 1983. His music teacher mentored him in the music industry for several years afterwards.
- He also attented school for music engineering.
- Bert started out with a band. Following in his brother's lead. He and several friends started a band called "Sedeke." They used to rehearse in his little room in my grandparents apartment. It was a live bad in that room complete with amps. It was so loud! My grandfather (Bertram Price Sr.) used to scream "TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!!" Remind you of anything? Try the beginning of the "No Doubt" video. lol At the time, I was about 5 or 6 years of age.
- Later he formed another group called One Blu Shu, with himself, Eric Cody, and one other person(who's names escapes me but I'll find out) They were signed to Qwest records, but unfortunately, nothing came of it.
- Soon after....The beginning of Double Phatt!
My Uncle felt that being behind the scenes was the best way to go. He and Eric Cody were Partners. They had some groups on DPH in the beginning but the one that stands out to me was the group "Lately." Very talented men who had some sort of "Jodeci" flavor to them. The group consisted of 5 young men(Hans, Rick, Mel, His Brother Ron, and Lionel BKA LB). Unfortunately, some of the group members had other obligations and hence the end of "Lately" also.
- Next came his child prodigy Stanley......then Olamide, Talib and John the birth of "Imajin."
the rest is history!
