RÁCALMÁS IN HUNGARY
Rácalmás, a riverside little town at the Danube river, lies nearly in the center of Hungary. The villages has traditions older than thousand years and became a popular and easy to access holiday resort at the century owing to the peaceful harmony and unrivalled charm of the Danube-bank region, the extended riverside forests and the vicinity of the Puszta in the Hungarian Plain. All of them are altogether sixty kilometers far from the Capital, Budapest. Rácalmás is located along the Little-Danube Branch, which is separated from the main branch of the river by an isle , more than 300 ha area.
The isle is covered with forest which has an almost intact flora and fauna. The village has an ancient part which shows an interesting contrast to the above mentioned plans. Rácalmás was originally a characteristic fishermen's village , the buildings have been remained. The visitors can enjoy the flag-paved streets and small country houses, thanks to the care of inhabitants that keep the local traditions and the successful restoration. The isle and the river-bank at Rácalmás is a Paradise for the angler and hunter.
