http://www.darkforum.comPraise For the First Mentorhttp://www.darkforum.com
Mighty Creator, Benevolent Spirit,
Through you all power is granted.
Love, health, wealth, will.
You witness all things and allow all choices.
Thank you for these gifts.
Grant me the capacity to use my power
In harmony with your assent,
For your endless blessings are the greatest gifts of all.
May my intentions have equally positive consequences,
So as not to squander or abuse your generosity.
Too often I take your love for granted,
I would like to parallel your infinite trust,
With respect and compassion to merit it,
In appreciation for your endless patience.
Thank you for allowing me to learn from my mistake,
For giving me faults to learn from,
And for the motivation to better myself.
Your generosity is altruistic and boundless.
Allow me to strive toward your glory, but never to attain it.
Thank you from the depths of my soul,
Your child and student always.

(a compilation)

Brilliant visions,
Sprouting massive wings,
Instantaneous flight school.
Giving chase to breeze-borne purple lights,
Falling freely from the upper atmosphere,
Soaring backward without sound.
Catch a breath of summer sky,
Eyes closed, digital daydreams.
Crushing tender grass underfoot,
Dancing under freedoms duress,
Savoring the flowers scent,
Riding the wind to somewhere new.
Plunging into pastel pillow fields,
Barefoot on the path to someplace deep,
A den of dormant hosts in luxury.
Firelight crackles, whispers of maple and cedar,
Step closer, become entrapped in drowsy glow,
An orange pompom supernova.
Sensory data on speed dial, impulse reference,
Fingers sliding into bags of seed and soil.
Growing upward, downward, spreading infectious,
White-knuckled to bind melting flesh,
Brewing in the gut, knotted and steaming,
The primal broth is boiling up consuming.
Blast off into an energy field, chaotic beauty,
Lost again in tantalizing insanity,
Busy, static, getting everywhere from far,
Rolling away, crisscrossing,
Exploring new constellations of delight.
Drifting back to shore through clouds of
Smoky black and angel white,
Upside-down and tangled.
A cathedral forest, desecrated,
Branches broken,
Crisp, crackling in the hungry flames.
Once green and supple chutes of life,
Whimsically floral,
Fragrant, pliable,
Now brittle, dry,
Numb.
Little broken wishbones,
All sticks and stones,
In a fiery hole of closure.
Terrible smoke billows from within,
Full of sparks borne of webs of foul wind,
Encircling, weaving through, disconnecting.
Each light in the haze a tribute
To something unsaid.

http://www.darkforum.comMy Tomorrowhttp://www.darkforum.com
Sane or silly,
Right or wrong,
Living dreams,
Chanting songs.
I will do this,
Tough or not,
Follow through
On every thought.
Café’s, castles,
Schools and kids.
Airplane tickets,
Auction bids.
There’s my future,
Joys and sorrows,
See you there
My tomorrow.

New, Exciting,
Roommates, Pals
Books and lectures,
Guys and gals.
Majors, minors,
Loans and grants,
Building futures,
Buying pants!
Queen Street, Yonge Street,
Bloor Street, ROM,
Home for the holidays,
Missing Mom.
Passing courses,
4’s and A’s
Off to law school,
Loans to pay.

On a boat,
Or flying high,
World explorer,
Russian, Thai.
Europe, Asia,
Africa, home!
Passports, postcards,
Hong Kong, Rome!
Learning languages,
Six or seven.
Souvenirs
From tourist heaven.
Business and pleasure,
Vacations and trips,
I’ll know the world,
From core to tip.

Getting Settled,
Dishes, drapes,
Work all day
To get home late.
A little girl,
And baby boy,
Pause my working,
Boost my joy.
She’ll be Cirrus,
In the sky,
A clever Pisces,
Blue of eye,
He’ll be Aries,
Fun and Loud.
I’ll call him Toby,
He’ll make me proud.

Warm and cozy
Comfy chairs,
Softly noisy,
Friendly stares,
Smell of coffee,
Brownie bliss,
Muffins, cookies,
Chocolate chips!
Raucous music,
Abstract art,
On the wall and
In my heart.
Helping street kids
To their feet.
Just a friend,
Bittersweet.

Spires and stairwells,
Drawbridge, mote,
Fires brewing
In dragon’s throat.
Walls of slag,
As black as night,
Not of brimstone
(Smell’s not right).
Attics, arches,
Basements, pools,
Secret passages,
Frightening ghouls.
Peasant colony,
Plenty to eat,
Fairs and festivals,
My own retreat.

Live outside the box.
Don’t give people negative memories.
Beat stress by finishing tasks well before deadlines.
Don’t try to change things until you ask yourself why you don’t like it.
Stop procrastinating… now!
If you aren’t doing what you enjoy, try to enjoy what you are doing.
Sometimes it’s worse not to act.
Be prepared for anything.
Sometimes you have to be smart, not sorry.
Be your own teacher.
Record everything you can.
Never stop philosophizing.
Have the soul of a poet and the courage of a warrior.
Be flexible.
Never let anyone restrict your freedom.
Smile at everyone.
Ask questions, then more questions.
Be honest as often as you can. If it’s hurtful, give fair warning; soften it, don’t avoid it.
Respect people especially if you want to be respected in return.
You can’t quit once your heart is in it.
Don’t build your empire on greed.
Do things by yourself once in awhile.
Stay committed as often as possible.
Have faith in the positive.
Never be afraid to get your knees and fingernails dirty.
Keep your word and say exactly what you want to communicate.
Don’t let misunderstandings build walls.
Thank people for all the little things they do.
Give something positive in return for something negative.
Try to avoid brushing people off.
Be lenient but know where to draw the line – a second chance is a second chance.
Let the world see your confidence even when you cant see it yourself.
Speak up when you have something to say.
Go with your instincts and listen to your intuition.
Know when to be spontaneous and when to stop and consider.
Sometimes you cant win and sometimes its better not to.
Grow up to be wise, not lonely.
The more love you show others allows more to be returned to you.
Never pass off the opportunity to try something new.
Be open to change.
Remember that nothing is 100%, not even this rule of thumb.
