Winter Longing
Windchimes singing, thrashing in the wind
Night sky scarred by stormclouds
Puddles forming under blinking streetlamps
Green grass, damp earth, bare feet
Soaking in the dark quiet, drop by drop
Clinging to the deep warmth
Knowing peaceful twilight reflections
As showers stroke my skin,
Awake, dizzy, inspired,
Heart drumming with the distant thunder.

Inferior Existence
Our sky twinkles in a camouflage of stars
Our moon condemned to a life of darkness
The dewdrops glisten on the grass and leaves
Echoes of the beauty up above
Each bright pinpoint smiles down in censure
Too long the heavens watched in passivity
Tonight the imprecation is clear
The angry thunder roars, lightning arrows fly
Winds of change blow down to extinguish fires
Once ignited by men who crookedly aspire
Their depredation fed into public values
Diminishing human worth from the inside out
One more tragic symptom of political sunder
No guilt plays on the lips of destruction
Their paranoia, discrimination and tragedy
Solidify the means of attaining power
Themes incognito as pride and safety will suffice
To strip away the morality of each decree
The forgotten stars frown upon the world
Watching subcelestial chaos take its toll
Willing Nature's forces into opposition
Letting green reclaim what men have turned to red.

Frozen
Words come out in puffs of frost,
Laughter always falls like snow
Sarcasm is frostbite in speech
The proverbial shoulder to cry on
Transformed to the cold shoulder
Quickly making icicles of tears
Snowman arms raised in greeting
Are of no use for hugs or handshakes
And the blizzard of frustration is at hand.

Eyes are open
Heart is closed
Lips are speaking
Words are woes
Laughing loudly
Catching eyes
Cruelly Cunning
Softness dies.
