The big man with the big strong arms
Dad's arms

Reach toward him, and you're wrapped up in them
They are leaving you.
No more bear hugs,
No more play fights.
Not until you see him again.
Boarding that airplane.

The woman with the soft brown eyes
Mums eyes
So pure, so sharp, so perceptive
One glance, and you cant look away
They are cloudy.
No more wordless conversations.
Just worry, and denial.
Until he leaves again.

The little girl with the drooping lip
Sisters lips.
So soft, so talkative, so innocent
As soon as you hear the voice coming from them,
Your ears won't let go.
They are silent.
No more Bubbly chatter to cheer us, or annoy us
