We suffered along with you
We watched as you withered away
And there was nothing we could do.
We gathered all around you
Trying hard to be strong
Knowing that at God's side
Is where you now belong.
So, God sent his angels down
To bring you home above
They wrapped you in their wings
And smothered you with God's love.
As they took you home to Him
Strength and comfort were sent our way
To help us in our grieving
To get us through each passing day.
You were a husband, dad, and grandpapa
You were someone very dear
And you are always remembered
Not just this one time a year.
