The Carrying of the Cross

Let us take strength from Christ and give strength to others by cheerfully bearing our crosses, whatever they may be.

  1. If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself. (Luke 9:23)
  2. And take up his cross every day and follow me. (Luke 9:23)
  3. And carrying His own cross they led Him out to crucify Him. (John 19:17; Mark 15:21)
  4. And they seized one a man, Simon from Cyrene, and made him shoulder the cross and carry it behind Jesus. (Luke 23:26)
  5. Shoulder My yoke and learn from Me. (Matt 11:29)
  6. For I am gentle and humble in heart. (Matt 11:29)
  7. And you will find rest for your souls. Yes, My yoke is easy and My burden light. (Matt 11:29, 30)
  8. Large numbers of people followed Him, and of women too, who mourned and lamented for Him. (Luke 23:27)
  9. But Jesus turned to them and said, 'Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children. (Luke 23:28)
  10. For if men use the green wood like this, what will happen when it is dry? (Luke 23:31)
