The Nativity

Let Christ's coming be constantly renewed in our hearts by fervent prayer and faithful reception of His sacraments.

1. Now while Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem the time came for her to have her child. (Luke 2:6)
2. And she gave birth to a son, her firstborn, and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes. (Luke 2:7)
3. And she laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn. (Luke 2:7)
4. In the countryside close by there were shepherds and the angel of the Lord appeared to them. (Luke 2:8, 9)
5. Do not be afraid. Listen, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. (Luke 2:10)
6. Today in the town of David a savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)
7. Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace to men who enjoy His favor. (Luke 2:14)
8. And some wise men came from the east, and going in they saw the child with His mother Mary. (Matt. 2:1, 11)
9. And falling to their knees they did Him homage. Then they offered Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh. (Luke 2:19)
10. And Mary kept in mind all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19)
