Some Advisors are past alumni of the band. Council Members are selected by their peers based on dependability, maturity, honesty, leadership and character by a ceremony called Council Tapping which is held at the last concert. After completing their two year term, Council members become part of the advisory board by going trough a ceremony called Torches Forward at Camp. The Council also votes on Officers. President, Vice- President, Recording Secretary, Enrollment Secretaries, Music Librarians, and Advisory board Chairman (the president the year before)
