My name is Theresa and this is my story.

I was a middle child born to southern parents. A homemaker and a farmer. My chance at life began when I was place in my mother's arms. Doctors did not know what to make of me. Because of my physical appearance, they have already decided to recommend that I be place in an institution. But mother wanted me. The doctors told her that I may be mental retarded and I may not live past the age of five. "If she is going to die then she will be with her family, not in some nut house. I was going home to my parents and my sibling.

At home, I was visit by a nurse each week to check on my progress. My father have left town and headed up north to find good paying jobs. With the help of Aunt Carrie and her husband, My dad got a job working in the steelyard and found a nice house for rent. We moved up 6 months later.
