Bugerville Brew: Official Homebrew of Hillbillies

This is a bottle of our homebrewed beer. The picture is a little out of focus but so is everything else after you drink it. We also make Podunk Punch (homemade wine). Both hit the spot on a hot sunny day!

Podunk Punch Recipe

We make homemade wine regularly. So far we have Eldeberry, Blackberry and Watermelon. We have a strawberry patch growing and will be making that soon. Our version of homemade wine is very simple. First you need a 6 gallon water jug (we use a wotter bottle from culligan - approx. cost 7.50) Fill This bottle with 5 gallons fresh fruit (frozen will work in a pinch). Remove the seeds and coursly chop fruit to fit in bottle neck. Add 7 lbs sugar. Add enough water to fill bottle to just below neck. Put aluminum foil on top to avoid spillling and shake up. Add 5 brewers yeast tablets (purchase at wal-mart, k-mart etc for around 2 bucks) Remove foil and you are ready to cork your wonderful creation. (Cork can be purchased at any hardware store. While your there pick up some plastic tubing (3 ft) and some caulking .You will need to drill a hole in cork slightly bigger than your tubing. Then insert the tubing in the cork far enough that it reaches 1 foot into your wine. Add some caulk on the top of the cork around the tube to make it airtight.) After inserting the cork in the bottle run the other end into a glass (we use a mason jar) filled with water. This is your blow off system. Wine takes about 6 weeks to finish fermenting. Shake you wine daily and when it quits bubbling, its ready to drink and bottle.
