Nancy Ring received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Social Services, and Sociology from Concordia University, River Forest, IL, in 1998. She is presently a full time therapist for adults with persistent and severe mental illnesses at a local community mental health facility. She is responsible for writing prevocational training manuals and materials, and the development of curricula for use in various skill building groups. Her other duties include editing the in-house newsletter, tutoring clients with educational goals, coordinating events, as well as facilitating group therapy and one-on-one counseling.
Currently, Nancy channels her desire to minister to others into her work as a part time freelance writer. Nancy also seeks out volunteer opportunities that allow her to communicate God's love through the written word or other means.
Nancy grew up in a Christian home, her parents teaching her the importance of active participation in church ministries. Her faith and understanding of God's love grew into a personal relationship with Christ as she reached adolescence. She has led small groups and Bible studies, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for several years.
Nancy Ring is an active member of SALT, a professional Christian writer's critique group. She is also an active member of Christian Writer's Fellowship International.
Nancy Ring's publication experience includes the following:
"You're Grounded" War Cry, accepted June, 1999
"If You Build It, They Will Come", "Let the Children Come to Me", and "Filling Your Wish List" Church Libraries, January, 2000.
