Grandma's Page

This was written by Jackson's maternal Grandma, Wendy

Jackson gave a whole new meaning to the term "born again". He renewed my life, my beliefs and made my spirits soar. He was my medicine, my cure all. "The Boy" as we called him, made everything alright- no matter what curve ball life threw you. It is amazing how dependent I was on him- from his all encompassing hugs to his indescribable kisses. The smile from his eyes alone could light up a room. People would probably say, "Well you are the Grandma, what else would you say?" Not true! I have a friend that said, "with a name like Jackson he better be special"- and oh how he was. 275 people came to say good-bye to that angel. He shared and showed his spirit to all- never cranky or greedy- always loving and giving. When we were asked to pray at the hospital by the priest- everyone prayed for a miracle. I knew he was the miracle, and angel disguised as a child.

I was honored to be his Grandma, and feel blessed to have spent almost two years with him. Yes, I could say I was robbed- not to have been able to see him grow up. Most people do not experience the joy and love that I received in a lifetime, let alone two years. So he wasn't "perfect" he had "stinky feet" that was our joke. That was the best stink ever!!

Jackson Taylor, I am forever grateful to have been your Grandma. My memories of you will sustain me until... we see each other again and the gaping hole in my heart is mended.

I will always love you,

Grandma

Jackson At 7 Months With His Grandma

This picture was taken Thanksgiving 1997. It was his first. On this day, on his diaper table- he said "Mama" for the first time. It made my day! He had two teeth already.

Grandma & Jackson Fooling Around

Jackson is wearing my mother's glasses here. He loved to do that! My mom did not care, as long as he was smiling.

The memories can last forever.

One example of his indescribable kisses!

He was a lover not a fighter!

This is the last picture of them together. It was taken 1 week before he passed. The picture itself shows the unconditional love they shared.
