Scenic Pictures of Hawaii and Colorado

Here are some scenic pictures I shot in Hawaii and Colorado.

This mountain is part of the Koolau Range in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
This is what I see every day when driving up the street I live on. If you were to turn around and look behind you
(although I don't recommend doing this while driving), the ocean is visible, which lends to some beautiful sunrises.

If you turn 90 degrees to the left of where previous picture was taken,
these foothills are visible with more Koolaus behind them.

This is Rainbow Falls on the Big Island. If the sun hits the water just right, a rainbow will form adjacent to the falls.

Also calling the Big Island home is Akaka Falls. I believe this may be the tallest waterfall in Hawaii, but don't quote me on that.

This is a beautiful black sand beach on Maui, visited with Faith Crew during the summer of '97.
Watch out for portugese man-of-war!

This is the equivalent of looking backwards while driving up Hololio Street as mentioned earlier.
This picture was shot from my lanai, or porch, just before the sun rose.

This picture was taken from the same location as the last but just after the sun set.

This scene was viewed from the Pali Lookout, looking out over Kaneohe.

Here's a lovely Colorado scene. It was shot from the middle of a freezing cold river during the women's camping trip.

This was an amazing shot because I was simply riding my bike along the north end of Shields St. in Fort Collins, when all of a sudden this beautiful scene opened out of the dense foliage to the left of me. I squealed to a stop with surprise, and had the chance at that moment to capture the beauty of Fort Collins in the fall that everyone else was speeding by.

When Carla came up to visit Colorado during Thanksgiving, we drove up to Estes Park in search of snow. After finding about a 6 inch by 8 inch spot of snow on the ground which was left over from the last snowfall 2 weeks earlier, we had finally satisfied her desire and started to head back to my grandparents' house. We must have timed it just right, though, because on the side of the road was this majestic elk (well I think it's an elk) just cruising by this little pond. It was awesome.

This is a snowy shot of our admin building which is really really old. I just thought it was kinda pretty.

This shot was taken on Drake Street near the Vet Teaching Hospital.
It was taken in late fall, you can tell this because the little red leaves are still on the tree. I was just walking around because
it was one of the first big snowfalls and thought this scene looked pretty. By the way there wasn't any hail, the big white balls are actually snowflakes that are just really close to the lens of the camera. Sorry to disappoint.
